Early Tuesday, commuters faced disruptions on the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) Blue Line as service was momentarily halted between O'Hare International Airport and Rosemont station. The suspension, which kicked in around 6:18 A.M., was due to Fire Department activity near the airport, as reported by the Chicago Sun-Times. During the suspension, trains were operating solely between Forest Park and Rosemont, leaving many passengers in need of alternative transport options.
Responding to the hitch, the CTA arranged for shuttle buses to ferry travelers between the affected stops. Details on the nature of the fire department's activities remained sparse, with neither the Chicago Fire Department nor the CTA providing immediate clarification on the specifics of the incident.
By around 7:20 A.M., service was restored on the Blue Line, but travelers were advised to expect minor delays post-resumption. ABC7 Chicago informed viewers that Chopper 7, which flew over the scene, did not visually identify any problems on the tracks.
