The Dallas Police Department has issued an urgent plea to the public for help in locating 64-year-old Portia Veronica Patillo, who went missing on June 2nd in the early evening hours. According to the Dallas Police Department, Mrs. Patillo was last seen on the 7500 block of Laburnam Road around 5:00 pm, where she was seen walking away from the area.
Described as an African American female with black hair, and brown eyes, standing five feet seven inches tall, and weighing 165 pounds, her last known attire included a black tracksuit paired with gray shoes that featured pink lettering, and she carried brown and red Coach shoes. Concerns are currently heightened for Mrs. Patillo's well-being as it is believed she may be disoriented and in need of assistance; the authorities are urging anyone with information regarding her whereabouts to come forward immediately.
Members of the community and others who may have seen Mrs. Patillo or know of her current location have been asked to make contact with the Dallas Police Department directly by dialing 911 or reaching out to the Missing Persons Unit at (214) 671-4268, with the hope that swift public engagement will lead to her safe and prompt return.
The police stress the urgency of this matter—the importance of any detail that might unravel the uncertainty swaddling her disappearance, neighbors and passersby might unknowingly hold puzzle pieces critical to the recovery of Mrs. Patillo, pieces that may guide her, toward home. In gatherings where our voices reach out in chorus, we feel the absence of the one, the echo through the community when one of our own has strayed too far from safety's shore.
