Dallas Police are reaching out to the community for assistance in tracking down a suspect implicated in two separate homicide incidents. The individual sought by law enforcement is 17-year-old Pablo Veliz, who is believed to have committed the violent crimes when he was 16 years old. The Dallas Police Department has issued two arrest warrants for murder against Veliz, connecting him to the deaths of two individuals in the past year, according to the Dallas Police Department.
An investigation revealed on May 2, Veliz allegedly shot and killed a 16-year-old male in the 2400 block of N. Masters Drive. The earlier incident occurred on December 11, 2023, wherein Veliz is suspected to have fatally shot a man in the 10500 block of Lake June Road. The police are actively encouraging anyone with information to come forward and to directly reach out to Detective Chris Walton of the Homicide Unit or Detective Chelsea Whitaker of the US Marshals Task Force. Veliz manages to remain at large, and the Dallas Police affirm the gravity of apprehending him.
Since Veliz was a juvenile at the time of both alleged offenses, the Department typically does not disclose the identity of juvenile suspects or detainees. Nevertheless, due to the severity of the situation, Dallas Police sought and received a court order sanctioning them to widely circulate specific information about Veliz. This includes his name, a detailed physical description, a photograph, and details about the alleged crimes he's connected to. The court approved this disclosure on June 12, hoping it would facilitate a faster arrest by garnering public assistance.
