Roy, a member of Scouts BSA Troop 1459 who recently graduated from Cambridge High School, saw the project through from its design stages to installation along the park’s 1.25-mile trail.
The undertaking was no minor feat; it spanned over parts of two weekends and required the collective efforts of 15 Scouts, 8 leaders, and numerous volunteers, demonstrating a community's ability to come together and improve shared spaces for all to enjoy. Not only does this addition to the Milton park enhance visitor experience, it also sets a precedent for young volunteers eager to contribute to their hometowns while they gain practical skills in the field of service and leadership.
Located within the expansive 137-acre confines of Milton park, these benches offer a pause, a literal and metaphorical place to sit and reflect, for residents and nature enthusiasts alike.
