The incident occurred on Wednesday night around 8:00 p.m. near the 336.8-mile marker. WVLT reported that the vehicle involved was a 2023 Ford F-150 heading west in the eastbound lane when it collided with an eastbound 2013 Harley Davidson.

The rider of the Harley Davidson, whose identity has been withheld pending notification of next of kin, succumbed to the injuries sustained in the crash. According to WATE, the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The driver of the truck was reportedly unharmed and charges are pending against him.

Following the crash, eastbound traffic on the I-40 was disrupted for several hours as investigations commenced and emergency crews worked on the scene. No names have been released as the investigation continues, as per 3B Media News
