Early this morning, Worcester Police Department's Vice Squad made an arrest involving a Framingham resident entrenched in drug activities. Acting on intelligence, officers pinpointed Thiago Teixeira, a 38-year-old, who was not only purportedly engaged in distributing cocaine but also, he had an outstanding warrant for prior drug and firearms offenses.
The arrest took place when officers spotted Mr. Teixeira on Piedmont Street. They promptly halted his vehicle, and Teixeira was found to seemingly cooperate as he was extracted from his car and cuffed without incident. It was during this encounter that the police came into possession of evidence allegedly connecting Teixeira more firmly to illicit activities.
According to the official press release from the Worcester Police Department, the findings from the detainment were telling. Teixeira was reportedly in possession of crack cocaine, an undisclosed amount of cash, and drug paraphernalia, all of which were discovered within the confines of his fanny pack. Further searches revealed more cocaine, this time stashed away in a cup located in the driver’s side door of the vehicle.
As a result of the findings, Teixeira was arrested on his outstanding warrant and is now facing additional charges. These include two counts of possession to distribute class B drugs with the apparent intent to distribute. The unfolding of this event continues to underscore the ongoing efforts by the Worcester PD to actively pursue and apprehend individuals allegedly involved in the local narcotics trade. Mr. Teixeira's apprehension further cements this commitment, as the city grapples to curtail substance abuse and its related criminal undertones.
