Franklin Police are actively looking for a man accused of surreptitiously photographing under a woman's skirt at a Target store in the CoolSprings area. The incident, which took place on Tuesday afternoon, saw the man allegedly deploying his phone to capture an "upskirt" image of an unsuspecting female shopper, as reported by FOX17.
According to a release, a witness observed the man "hovering close" to his target and described him "stoop down" behind her with his phone, before being scared off after store security was contacted and running away from the store. The suspect was wearing a white T-shirt, khaki sweatpants, and Crocs when he left in a silver Honda coupe, as stated by the witness and shared by WKRN.
Authorities have provided a description of the suspect as a white male with brown hair and facial hair. Highlighting the need for community assistance, the Franklin Police Department has opened a line for any information regarding the suspect's identity, urging individuals to contact them at (615) 794-2513, as also noted by WSMV.
Moreover, members of the public who wish to remain anonymous can submit tips to Crime Stoppers of Williamson County. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest, highlighting the gravity with which this invasion of privacy is being treated. Taking upskirt photos is not only morally reprehensible, but it is also a crime, as it violates an individual's expectation of privacy.
