The vibrant beat of summer has officially hit District 1, as local residents gathered in a celebration of community and sunshine during the District 1 Summer Fest. A key feature of the festival, beyond the usual revelry, was the presence of public health specialists keen on taking their message directly to the people.
Public Health Specialist Tyler Sloan found the event to be a perfect intersection of festivity and outreach, offering a unique chance for engagement, "Being out here is a great opportunity. It's a great opportunity to meet everyone, and to be able to answer questions for people who may not be able to make it in to any of our facilities," Sloan said, according to a Fulton County news release. This initiative seemed especially pertinent for reaching residents who typically have limited interaction with health services or those who don’t frequent the standard health events.
