On a bustling Tuesday evening in Colma, a theft incident unfolded that promptly drew the attention of the local authorities. According to a Facebook post from the Colma Police Department, at about 5:41 pm on June 14, officers responded to the scene of a reported theft on the unit block of Colma Boulevard. They were informed that a man had allegedly stolen goods and was seen sprinting northward on Junipero Serra Boulevard.
An exhaustive search was initiated, leading officers to spot the suspect as he moved to exit from the grounds of a cemetery and into the parking lot positioned at the junction of Junipero Serra Boulevard and D Street. Police commands to halt were blatantly ignored as the suspect chose to retreat into the cemetery confines hastily. It was within a wooded sanctuary of the dead that officers finally located and detained the suspect, who had since chosen concealment overflight.
Authorities confirmed with the affected business manager that this was the man behind the theft. The stolen merchandise was valued at just over two hundred fifty-eight dollars. Sergio Landinahumada, identified as a twenty-eight-year-old resident of Hayward, was arrested and charged with petty theft and resisting arrest. His release was subsequently secured on a citation grounded in a pledge to appear in court.
