The Broward County Sheriff's Office is actively seeking assistance from the public, following an incident where an unidentified man reportedly discharged a firearm into a crowd of juveniles. This event transpired at approximately 10 p.m. on Friday, April 12 at Mary Saunders Park, located at 4750 S.W. 21st St. in West Park, as reported by CBS12 and Local10.
The authorities indicated that the occurrence followed a prearranged fight involving students from the same high school. Surveillance captured a blue sedan entering the park's lot, from which a female passenger exited, the footage also revealed the onset of the altercation among the youths. During the fight, the driver of the sedan, a male, emerged with a rifle and fired at the group of minors.
Subsequently, the shooter along with the female passenger, hastily reentered the vehicle and departed the scene. "A juvenile female was shot multiple times and a man was shot once," the Broward County Sheriff's Office stated. The victims were transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, as reported by Local10.
