Bikers, joggers, and walkers around Lake Peachtree have reason to celebrate as the SR-54 multi-use path bridge shoulder detour has finally reopened. The path, which slices across the breadth of the scenic lake, was closed for maintenance but, as per a June 7th posting from Peachtree City authorities, it became accessible again as of May 31st.
The inconvenience the closure might have posed on locals was inevitable but necessary for safety upgrades and infrastructural improvements. Meanwhile, the path situated beneath the SR-54 bridge, also obstructed by ongoing works, was made available to the public once more on the same day.
These updates come as part of a wider project that according to the same Peachtree City bulletin has a revised completion timeline which now stretches to August 2024, adjusting prior expectation.
