In the early hours of Monday morning, Atasha Chizaah Jefferson, known by her stage name Tommie Lee, was taken into police custody on a charge of battery outside Club LIV in Miami Beach. The incident, occurring around 2:20 a.m. at the venue on 4441 Collins Ave, involved the 39-year-old rapper and reality TV star from "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta," according to a Local 10 report.
Jefferson was reportedly held by the victim with her arms behind her back when officers arrived, a position taken after she allegedly became confrontational. Local 10 details how the victim, unknown to Jefferson, was approached and offered an item which he refused. She then supposedly became irate and proceeded to poke the victim in the face, resulting in him holding Jefferson until police took over.
Subsequent to her arrest, surveillance footage obtained from hotel security corroborated the victim's claims by showing Jefferson's escalating aggression. The video confirmed the narrative that she poked the victim during the confrontation, as per an WSVN release. In addition, Jefferson is alleged to have made threats, cursing and telling the victim she "would have him killed and shot up," as stated in the arrest report.
After the local authorities took over from the victim, restraining Jefferson without further incident, she was brought to Turner Guilfield Knight Correctional Center. Her arrest has brought another wave of legal troubles for the entertainer, who has a history with the law and has had previous encounters with the criminal justice system.
