A 38-year-old man was shot to death early on Tuesday in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood, law enforcement officials said. The fatal shooting occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. on the 1600 block of Howard Street, where the victim was discovered unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the back of the head. According to ABC7 Chicago, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
As of now, no suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the homicide, and the identity of the man has yet to be released. Responding officers closed Howard Street between Marshfield and Paulina while investigations continued, causing disruptions to southbound #147 Outer DuSable Lake Shore Drive express buses.
Details of the ongoing investigation have been sparse, but Chicago Police Department Area Three Detectives are handling the case, pointed an article from the Chicago Tribune.
