
A violent confrontation during a road rage incident in New Braunfels has resulted in a 55-year-old man being rushed to the hospital with severe injuries after being attacked with a machete, local police report. The altercation took place on North Market Avenue and East San Antonio Street, where the New Braunfels Police Department responded to emergency calls about a stabbing around noon yesterday. According to FOX San Antonio, both men involved had exited their vehicles prior to the assault.
Details obtained by KENS 5 indicate the victim was earnestly trying to defend himself during what was described as a "rolling disturbance" before being confronted with a "machete-type knife" by the assailant. The suspect, an older male with gray hair, was seen fleeing the scene in a light-colored four-door pickup truck.
The victim sustained a slash wound to his upper body and was transported to a hospital in Kyle, where he remains in a state labeled as serious but stable. Authorities are actively searching for the suspect and are calling on the community for assistance.
