Memphis Police are actively searching for suspects following a series of car burglaries in the parking lot of Saint Mary’s Episcopal School. According to Action News 5, on June 5, multiple vehicles were broken into by individuals who arrived at approximately 8:00 p.m. in a black Nissan Maxima with noticeable rear-end damage and a missing rear bumper.
Footage obtained by officers reveals a group of men disembarking from the Maxima and targeting individual cars, breaking the door glass to gain access. Each suspect proceeded to search inside the vehicles before fleeing the scene in the same damaged vehicle. The same car has been implicated in additional auto burglaries throughout the city, as stated by WREG News Channel 3.
The Memphis Police Department has not made any arrests but is continuing with an ongoing investigation. They have released photos and surveillance video of the suspects involved in an effort to solicit assistance from the public. As revealed by Local Memphis 24, the suspects' modus operandi involved each targeting a different car, smashing windows, and rummaging through car interiors.
