The Aging and Adult Services Division (AASD) and Disability Services Division (DSD) have rolled out their latest batch of updates and initiatives in their weekly digest. This includes a range of topics from eligibility worksheet adjustments for certain care programs to a call for input on a disability inclusion survey.
First up, for those with a vested interest in Alternative Care (AC) and Essential Community Support (ECS) programs, take note. The eligibility worksheets for these services are seeing some revisions. According to the announcement, these changes are prompted by the annual adjustments that tag along with the federal income and eligibility benchmarks. The new worksheets go live from July 1, 2024, so there's some time to get acclimated with the modifications.
Then there's a call-out for feedback on the state of disability inclusion. The Olmstead Implementation Office is on a mission to scoop up insights through a survey that's available until June 30. The aim is simple: gauge the effectiveness of current strategies for disability inclusion and choice. They’re reaching out to individuals with disabilities, their families, and anyone else keen to share their perspective on this pressing matter.
Moving over to DSD, they're keeping a close eye on the take-up of the new disability waiver case manager employment training. This is mandatory stuff, and there's a hard deadline: August 1, is the finish line for all case managers to complete this training. It's all part of an effort to ensure that case managers are equipped with the latest and greatest in disability support training. The stakes are high, as this training is critical to delivering top-notch support to those who need it most.
For those interested in honing their professional edge, DHS hasn't forgotten about you. They've got a trio of webinars on deck, focused on support planning prowess. These sessions are slated for the tail end of June, late September, and mid-December. However, look sharp – DHS has pulled the plug on the June 26 session of the Disability Waiver Rate System (DWRS) Quarterly Webinars citing a lack of timely content. Instead, catch the next updates on September 25 and December 11. You won't want to miss what they've got up their sleeve then.
