Officials from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced the cancellation of a Silver Alert for 85-year-old Albert Young, who had been reported missing in Knox County, as per WVLT. Young, who was last seen on Friday morning near Rothmoor Drive in Knoxville, has been found safe in South Carolina.
The initial alert was issued after concerns were raised about Young's medical condition, which could impair his ability to safely return without assistance. He may also, have been driving a gray 2001 Chevrolet Malibu with the license plate number 163 BCWW. Those with information had been urged to call the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND, reported WBIR.
According to WATE, in Tennessee, nearly 400 people go missing annually, which breaks down to about five people for every 100,000. The community is encouraged, to check lists of missing persons in the event they can provide assistance in locating someone. The shared sense of responsibility and alertness by the public plays a crucial role in these situations.
