Thomas Robert Trim, a 23-year-old from Mt. Morris, received his sentence on Thursday for his involvement in a road rage shooting on I-75 that occurred earlier this year. As Fox 2 Detroit reports, Trim was handed 105 days in jail and a subsequent two-year probation after pleading guilty to felonious assault and discharging a weapon from a vehicle. Trim won't be serving additional jail time as he has already been credited for time served.
In the February incident, the victim described to police how the assailant passed her using the highway's shoulder before attempting to force her vehicle off the road on I-75 near Grange Hall Road in Groveland Township. The Oakland Press detailed that Trim, having spent 105 days in jail since February 23, which matched the length of the sentence he received, was thus scheduled for release. Trim is now facing two years of probation following his time in custody.
Judge Martha Anderson, overseeing the case, carried out the sentencing which also took into account Trim's guilty plea to the charges against him. According to the police account, after the confrontation and reckless driving, Trim shot at the victim through his passenger window. He then maneuvered around her vehicle to fire additional shots from his driver's side window, as stated by the victim who was fortunately unharmed by the gunfire.

His arraignment took place at the 52-2 District Court with a bond set at $50,000. MSP First Lt.
