Residents of Naperville's northeast side were put on high alert Sunday after a shooting incident left one person wounded. According to the Naperville Police Department, the shooting occurred at approximately 2:46 p.m. near Iroquois Avenue and Kennebec Lane. Police found the injured party outside a home on the 1000 block of Iroquois Avenue, who then, was later transported to the hospital by the Naperville Fire Department for treatment.
Initially, it was believed the suspected offender had taken flight on foot, prompting the police to set up a perimeter and begin a thorough search with a K9 unit and a drone. Shelter-in-place directives, disseminated through a Naper Notify Alert, kept the locals confined inside their homes, as per the Naperville Police Department. However, as the investigation unfolded, it emerged that the offender had actually fled by vehicle, leaving the neighborhood unnerved and on edge.
