
A somber recovery was made in Percy Priest Lake after a distressing incident that led to the recovery of a male body on Sunday, as reported by WSMV. The Nashville Fire Department, along with the Office of Emergency Management, responded to a call near Hamilton Creek Marina after reports stated a man entered the water and failed to resurface.
The incident, which unfolded just after 12:30 p.m., involved the victim, a man in his 30s originally from the Republic of Colombia, who, while with friends, swam roughly 15 yards from the shore and began to exhibit signs of struggle, initial impressions by his companions thought to be just quickly turned to concern when he submerged without returning to the surface, prompting a search, NewsChannel 9 detailed the attempt made by friends to aid him eventually led to their losing hold of him.
Multiple agencies, including the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and Metro Nashville Parks and Recreation Department, aided the search which culminated in the locating and recovery of his body just before 3 p.m., as per WSMV.
The identity of the victim, described as a Hispanic male, has been confirmed police were in the process of notifying his next of kin according to the information provided by NBC Montana.
