
Authorities are intensifying their search for an unidentified suspect in a stabbing incident in Nashville. According to the Nashville Metro Police Department's release, a 29-year-old man was attacked without provocation at an Exxon gas station on Smith Springs Road at around 7:30 p.m. yesterday. The victim, who was fueling his vehicle, suffered serious yet non-life-threatening injuries to his head and neck after being approached and stabbed by the suspect from behind.
The unforeseen assault took place as the suspect, described as a black man wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and dark pants, arrived on foot from the woods. Before making his move, he was lingering in front of the Exxon establishment for a subtle time. Having fought off the attacker, the victim managed to maintain consciousness and was later taken to a local hospital for treatment. He reported that during the attack, the assailant did not attempt communication or to rob him.
Surveillance footage has been obtained, capturing the suspect's escape back into the nearby wooded area following the violent encounter. The Nashville Metro Police are reaching out to the public for assistance, encouraging anyone with information or recognition of the man from the attached surveillance photo to come forward.
