Pinal County residents who have something to say about how their tax dollars are being used will soon have their chance. The Board of Supervisors is inviting the public to weigh in during two "Truth in Taxation" hearings slated for the morning of July 3, 2024.
These hearings will occur alongside the board's regular session meeting, kicking off at 9:30 AM, in a place steeped in historical resonance, the 1891 Courthouse at 135 North Pinal St, in Florence, AZ. If you can't make it in person, you can still peep at the posted notices which will appear in the local Casa Grande Dispatch on June 18 and again on June 25, according to the Board's announcement.
These hearings are more than just a standard procedure; they're a critical platform for residents to speak up about fiscal concerns and to gain insight on how tax rates and budgetary plans may affect them. It's an event marked on the calendar for those who take their civic duties seriously and for whom financial accountability from their elected officials isn't just preferable, it's imperative.
The Pinal County Board of Supervisors seems to understand the gravity of this, ensuring the transparency and civic engagement such hearings support are not just promised, but delivered. So mark it down, show up, and speak out – your voice on these matters can echo far beyond the walls of the courthouse, shaping the financial landscape of Pinal County for the year to come.
