
The Plano Police Department has issued a call to the community to aid in locating a 14-year-old girl reported missing since May 24. Identified as a habitual runaway, Jayda was last seen near her residence on the 5000 block of K Ave, leaving at about 5:30 in the evening. As described by the Plano Texas Police Department, she was dressed in a black hoodie, and grey sweatpants, and carried a black book bag.
Investigators believe that Jayda might be in the company of her girlfriend, A.R., who resides on the 5700 block of Daniel Rd. in Plano, an area known as Shops at Legacy. Despite previous attempts following her disappearance, Jayda's location remains a mystery. In a post on their official Facebook page, the Plano Police called upon anyone with information on Jayda's whereabouts to come forward. Spotted wearing a black hoodie, grey sweatpants, and a black book bag, the last sighting of Jayda was as she left her home.
The issue of runaways poses a continuous challenge for communities and law enforcement alike, requiring a delicate balance between public assistance and privacy concerns. The Plano Texas Police Department shared on social media, underlines the fine line they must walk in addressing such cases: "The department appreciates the public's assistance in bringing J home safely." They also issued a reminder that harboring a runaway is an offense, signaling the seriousness with which they view such situations.
