
Fire ravaged a commercial building on the northeast side of San Antonio early Monday, with crews from the San Antonio Fire Department fighting to quell the flames that ultimately led to a roof collapse, reported KENS 5. The inferno, which was first reported around 4:41 a.m. in the 13600 block of Bulverde Road, caused extensive damage to the building believed to be used for woodworking.
Authorities arrived to find the back half of the structure engulfed, with flames tearing through the roof leading to its collapse, the battalion chief informed KENS 5. While, the cause of the fire remains undetermined at this hour, officials say that half of the building is considered a complete loss. According to a report by KSAT, no injuries have been reported in the incident.
The San Antonio Fire Department was quick on the scene, with a count of 16 units responding to the emergency call. An investigation into the incident is underway, as fire officials work to piece together the events that led to the early-morning blaze.
