The Bazan Branch Library in San Antonio is back in business, ready to welcome the local community after a brief hiatus for infrastructure upgrades. The library, known for its engaging programs and informative collections, closed its doors on April 29 and has now resumed operations as of June 10 following the installation of a new metal roof system and downspouts, a necessity after hail storms wreaked havoc. According to a recent announcement, visitors can return to the library from noon to 8 p.m on Mondays and Tuesdays, and from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m from Wednesday to Sunday.
Patrons of Bazan Branch, situated at 2200 W. Commerce St., can now, once again, engage with the broad range of resources and programs the library has to offer. This reopening is perfectly timed with the library's Summer with SAPL events, which are already in full swing. The library's website offers a comprehensive list of scheduled activities for those interested in participating in the vibrant summer schedule.
Library-goers who've been waiting to collect their on-hold items will find their books ready for pickup starting June 10. The reopening represents not just a return to the familiar, but also a renewed commitment to the educational and cultural enrichment of the community. As part of the San Antonio Public Library system, Bazan Branch has served as a literary haven since 1977, even earning its name in honor of Isabel G. Bazan, a dedicated former librarian of the San Antonio Public Library.
