Vegetation and trees across two acres were also harmed by the wind-driven fire. This incident underscores the persistent risk of urban fires, even in spaces not densely packed with residential and commercial structures. While the cause of the fire was deemed accidental, specifics regarding the initiation of the blaze were not immediately made available.
The SFFD's Public Information Officer took to social media to detail the department's response to the incident, highlighting the challenges of wind-driven fires. "Last night, #yoursffd responded to a wind-driven fire in the Bayview district that damaged a structure," the PIO stated.
