The Brazos County Sheriff's Office has issued a Silver Alert for Troy Luce, a 73-year-old man with a reported cognitive impairment, who was last seen in Bryan, Texas. Luce, as described by authorities, is a white male, about 5'8" in height, weighing around 230 pounds, last seen dressed in a black t-shirt adorned with a flag design and dark gray jogging-style pants.
Officials have indicated that Luce was last sighted on the 2400 block of West Texas State Highway around 6 p.m. on Saturday. The concern here is not so much the man, but the vulnerability engendered by his condition - cognitive impairment can render the world a labyrinth without end, and every second not found only elongates his peril. According to CBS Austin, there is a possibility that Luce could have been traveling in a 2017 dark blue Nissan Frontier, bearing the Texas license plate MDS8909.
As per the Silver Alert notice, which aims to inform the public about missing individuals with various forms of dementia or other mental disabilities, any person with information about Troy Luce's whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office. The hope here is that the strands of community can weave a net of safety, bringing Luce back to the harbor of home.
