Officials from the Denton Police Department have disclosed the arrest of a second suspect linked to the fatal shooting that took place on May 25, a tragic event that has since been under meticulous investigation.
The incident, which resulted in the death of one man and injuries to another, unfolded when three individuals, identified by authorities as Zachary Lowe, 34, Riley Clowers, 24, and River Williams, 25, allegedly accosted the driver of a parked pickup truck on W. Windsor Drive, forcing him to the ground under threat of gunfire, and during an altercation where the driver attempted to flee with Williams still on board, shots were fired and both men sustained injuries, Williams's proving fatal, according to a news release by the City of Denton, Texas.
In the wake of these disturbing events, Lowe was taken into custody in Saginaw on a recent Tuesday afternoon, with the indispensable help of the North Texas and East Texas US Marshals Fugitive Task Force; he is being held in the City of Denton Jail, his bond yet to be determined. Clowers had been previously detained on the day of the shooting and is currently in the Denton County Jail with a set bond of $100,000.
