Sunshine and clear skies are the order of the week for Knoxville, as the National Weather Service reports an array of mostly sunny to sunny days with climbing temperatures. According to NWS Knoxville, locals can expect the calm days to gradually turn up the heat, moving from a comfortable 81 degrees today to a hot high in the lower 90s by the weekend.
Weather forecasts indicate that the evenings will bring some respite from the day’s warmth, with nighttime lows maintaining a steady range from the upper 50s to around 70 degrees throughout the week. Humidity, currently sitting at a damp 100 percent as of the 8:15 am update, is expected to fall giving way to those clear evening skies. There’s a stillness, too, with winds holding calm to a mild breeze at most.
By Thursday, residents will be amidst a warming trend, with the NWS predicting a sunny and hot day with highs touching 90 degrees. This pattern is on pace to continue, with Friday and Saturday also looking sunny and hot, with highs pressing into the low 90s.
However, the week of sun isn’t set to last uninterrupted. The NWS foresees a slight shift come Sunday, projecting a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. While it's still set to be a mostly sunny and hot day with a high near 93, those looking to make plans for the end of the week should keep an eye on this developing potential for rain.
