On the Oregon coast, a trio of surfers were rescued from a perilous situation involving a rip current near Seaside, as confirmed by local rescue teams. KPTV reported that the incident occurred on Monday afternoon when the individuals unsuspectingly encountered the powerful stream that dragged them seaward, necessitating swift action by Seaside Fire & Rescue.
Division Chief of Prevention, Genesee Dennis, warned, saying, "The ocean is dynamic. It’s constantly moving in different directions." The surfers were caught in an unforgiving grip necessitating a lifeguard to fight through what Dennis described as "rough" conditions to reach them.
Seaside Fire & Rescue has advised beachgoers to stay vigilant and consult the lifeguards before diving into the coastal waves, emphasizing that such occurrences can arise without warning, according to KATU.
