A Taunton man is now in custody following the culmination of a coordinated investigation between regional law enforcement agencies, aimed at stifling the flow of narcotics across multiple states. Jason Hodo, 33, was apprehended and faces numerous trafficking charges after an inquiry spearheaded by the Commonwealth Interstate Narcotics Reduction Enforcement Team - South (CINRET - South).

Details obtained from an official police report detail that intelligence gathered during May and June pointed to Hodo's involvement in the distribution of sizable quantities of fentanyl and cocaine within Rhode Island, Plymouth, and Bristol Counties in Massachusetts. Upon extensive surveillance and analysis, authorities successfully obtained warrants to inspect all premises connected to Hodo.

On June 5, law enforcement tracked Hodo as he moved from a Rhode Island site to a gas station in Taunton where he was detained and found in possession of the narcotics. Following the arrest, officers went on to carry out "knock and announce" operations at specified locations tied to Hodo in both states.

The seizures were significant, with Massachusetts locations yielding approximately 528 grams of fentanyl, 206 grams of cocaine, and around $22,000 cash—Rhode Island searches resulted in the confiscation of two loaded firearms, high-capacity magazines, an additional 12 grams of fentanyl, some $19,000 in cash, and various luxury items including gold bars and an expensive diamond/gold chain. After these findings, Hodo was booked on charges related to Trafficking Class A and B Substances at the State Police-Middleboro barrack and will also be facing felony weapon and fentanyl trafficking charges in Rhode Island.
