A tragedy unfolded late Monday afternoon on Chicago's South Side, where a double shooting claimed the life of an 18-year-old man and critically injured a 19-year-old woman in the Longwood Manor neighborhood. The Chicago Tribune reported that victims were inside a vehicle around 5:30 P.M. on the 9600 block of South Green Street when two individuals brandishing handguns opened fire on them.
The young man succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn while the woman remains in critical condition. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, no one has been apprehended about the shooting, and Chicago Police Department detectives are currently investigating the circumstances that led to this act of violence.
