Tragedy struck in the early hours on an Atlanta street when a teenage boy was shot in the face, police say. The Atlanta Police Department reports that officers were called to 2782 Oldknow Drive NW around 1:56 a.m. on June 2nd after receiving reports of a person shot. Upon their arrival, they found a 16-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the face. Despite the harrowing ordeal, the teen was alert, conscious, and breathing when officers found him.
Authorities have said that the victim was quickly transported to the hospital for treatment. His current condition has not yet been released to the public. The area around Oldknow Drive NW was corded off as the Major Crimes Response Team worked to establish what led to such a violent incident in this usually quiet neighborhood.
