In Wright County, a commendation has been made, recognizing the years of dedicated foster care service provided by Dan and Traci Torgerson. The recognition took place at the June 4 meeting of the Wright County Board of Commissioners, signaling an acknowledgment of the couple's sustained commitment to children in need.
The Torgersons, who have been licensed foster care providers since 2011, have brought over 70 children into their home, offering respite, interim, and shelter care, managing more than just the logistics of housing these youths but also engaging in the profound act of restoring some semblance of normalcy to lives frequently disrupted by circumstance, during their service with both Wright County and a private agency called Path, they have opened their home and hearts adopting two boys and consistently delivered a semblance of stability to those most in need.
According to a Wright County notice, the Torgersons' dedication extends beyond the walls of their home—they have played a vital role in mentoring new foster parents and sharing their knowledge and experiences through support groups and orientation sessions for new providers, further amplifying their impact on the foster care system in their community.
Wright County Health & Human Services has expressed deep gratitude toward the Torgersons for the nurture and guidance they have provided to foster children, it was Board Chairman Darek Vetsch, himself a seasoned foster parent, who gave voice to the community's appreciation during the board meeting, saying, “On behalf of the board and the citizens of Wright County, we can’t thank you enough for all the years of service and all the lives you’ve changed,” Vetsch said, “May God bless you and thank you.”
