
A 15-year-old girl has been brought into custody and is facing multiple serious charges after her alleged involvement in several violent incidents on Chicago's public transportation system. According to a press release from the Chicago Police Department, the young girl, whose name has not been disclosed due to her minor status, is accused of taking part in a series of robberies and aggravated batteries.
The police report details that the juvenile was apprehended on July 9 in the 1200 block of S. Wabash. She has been identified and charged with three felony counts each of robbery and aggravated battery against transit employees or passengers. These incidents, which date back to the beginning of the year, were reported to have broadly impacted victims ranging in age from 23 to 34 years old. Arrest details have been kept tightly under wraps, with officials opting to not immediately release further information.
The initial altercation took place on January 8th, involving a 26-year-old woman who was battered in the 0-100 block of E. Roosevelt. Subsequent attacks occurred on May 6th and May 11th, in which a 23-year-old female was battered and robbed, and a 34-year-old male was battered and robbed, respectively. The final recorded incident before the juvenile's arrest was a robbery committed against a 30-year-old male on July 4th.
The Chicago Police Department has advised that no additional information is available at this moment, as the case remains an ongoing investigation.
