
An 18-year-old man has been charged in connection with an armed robbery of a 17-year-old on a Chicago Transit Authority bus, Chicago police said. Tony Wilson of the 5300 block of S. Bishop St. is facing felony charges of armed robbery with a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon on a person, according to a news release from the Chicago Police Department.
Police reported that Wilson was apprehended on July 11, 2024, after he allegedly took property at gunpoint from the teenage victim. The incident occurred shortly before the arrest, inside a CTA Bus in the 11400 block of S. Halsted St. Wilson was identified as the suspect and subsequently placed into custody, charged with the aforementioned crimes. His detention hearing was set for July 12, 2024, at a court in the 2600 S. California area.
