
A shooting incident in Antioch earlier today left an 18-year-old man injured when a bullet pierced his head after someone fired through his windshield, according to Metro police. The unnamed man, who suffered a non-life threatening injury, sought refuge and assistance at a nearby fire station following the late-night violent act. Reports from WKRN indicate that the episode appears to be a 'very likely targeted' attack.
The victim managed to rapidly drive himself to the Nashville Fire Department’s station 33 on Forest View Drive, where he found help shortly after the shooting incident occurred. According to a WSMV 4 Nashville report, the man arrived at the station at around 1 a.m. The Metro Nashville Police Department, currently leading the ongoing investigation, has yet to discover where exactly the shooting originated, and the search for the shooter remains to be an immediate matter at hand.
After receiving emergency treatment at the station, the injured man was transported to the hospital in a serious, yet stabilized, condition. As of now, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening which offers a grim hope in the shadow of such a reckless act of violence. "The 18-year-old victim suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his head," investigators told WKRN.
