A fatal shooting on the Dan Ryan Expressway in Chicago's Chatham neighborhood claimed the life of an individual on Thursday afternoon. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Illinois State Police received reports of the incident at approximately 5:15 p.m. and arrived at the northbound lanes of Interstate 94, between 79th and 83rd Streets.
The victim was transported to Comer Children’s Hospital where they were later pronounced dead, as confirmed by both the police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Initially, there were scarce details about the victim's identity besides the name, Tyjon Bush, which was later confirmed to be a 22-year-old individual, as reported by ABC7 Chicago.
Whether other parties were injured in the shooting has not been disclosed. Illinois State Police will continue the investigation, as per ABC7 Chicago.
