A 29-year-old woman was tragically killed while cycling late at night in Antioch. The accident happened near Lone Tree Way and Sagebrush Drive, as reported by the Antioch Police Department. Officers found the victim at the scene yesterday at approximately 12:10 AM.
Emergency responders arrived quickly but were unable to save the woman, who was declared dead at the scene. The driver, a 38-year-old Antioch resident, was present and is suspected of driving under the influence. He was arrested for DUI causing serious injury or death.
The Antioch Police Department's Traffic Investigators are handling the ongoing investigation. The names of those involved have not been released yet, pending notification of the victim's family.
