A fatal altercation at Porterdale Bar and Grill has culminated in the death of a 68-year-old man, as reported by the Newton County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. and was first mentioned by Porterdale police on Facebook, urging the local population to exercise caution. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the victim received on-site medical attention before being transported to a nearby hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The Newton County Sheriff's Office named the deceased as Kyle Fowler of Covington and announced the arrest of William Brown, a 34-year-old from McDonough. Brown faces charges including three counts of aggravated assault, murder, and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission or attempt to commit certain crimes. As of yet, the authorities have not divulged any motives behind the shooting.
