A 71-year-old man, identified as Jeffrey Boyer, has been arrested on charges of public sexual indecency and disorderly conduct after an incident at an East Valley movie theater. The incident occurred during a movie at Harkins Theatre in Queen Creek, which is situated near Rittenhouse and Ellsworth Roads. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, the arrest followed after Boyer was allegedly seen on surveillance video inappropriately touching himself on July 22.
After being approached by police, Boyer asserted he was stretching his legs due to a medical condition, captured on surveillance footage engaging in the inappropriate act. This explanation, however, was contradicted by the video evidence. As reported by AZ Central, the theater manager had reported the incident to the Queen Creek police, leading to Boyer's subsequent arrest.
The Queen Creek police took Boyer into custody, booking him into a Maricopa County jail. While initially claiming to be just stretching, Boyer eventually admitted to the act after being informed about the security camera footage. "Boyer initially told police he was stretching his legs because of a medical condition, but he later admitted to inappropriately touching himself after he was informed of the security footage," as stated by AZ Central.
