A tragic occurrence unfolded at the Tennessee National Marina where a 76-year-old man tragically lost his life after an incident on Fort Loudoun Lake. The Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency confirmed that the individual was attempting to secure his vessel to the dock when he fell into the water and failed to resurface. Multi-agency search efforts were immediately launched following the report of the man's disappearance.
Efforts to locate the man were quickly underway, with search teams deploying a remotely operated vehicle as part of the recovery attempt. In a statement obtained by WBIR Channel 10, Matt Cameron, public information officer for the TWRA, noted that the man "was trying to tie his vessel to a dock" when the unfortunate incident occurred. Despite the quick response and utilization of advance technology, the man's mortal outcome was unchanged.
Further details emerged as the search reached its conclusion. A TWRA investigator was able to initially locate the victim's body with the assistance of the remotely operated vehicle. Subsequently, a dive team performed the recovery. Agencies involved have yet to release the identity of the man, stating that information will follow after notifying the next of kin.
