Alert from Real-Time Surveillance Camera Leads to Arrest and Weapons Charge in Hayward Walmart Parking Lot

A Flock Safety Camera notification alerted Officer Pabst to the presence of a felony vehicle in her vicinity earlier this week. The alert enabled her to promptly spot the vehicle, which led to a secure stop and arrest in a Walmart parking lot, CHP Hayward disclosed.

With the assistance of the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office, the driver who was apprehended had been carrying a loaded firearm concealed on his person.

"CHP Hayward is actively utilizing the Flock Safety Camera system to solve crimes and bring criminals to justice", the CHP Hayward concluded, signaling a commitment to expanded use of surveillance for public safety.
