Residents in Anoka County experienced significant disruption in municipal services yesterday when a statewide technical outage hampered operations at the Anoka County License & Passport Centers, as reported by the Anoka County.
The technical issues, which affected computer systems at various locations, drastically reduced the number of stations able to process transactions. The centers could only manage a few services, such as tab renewals, leaving a large portion of necessary tasks, like processing new and renewing driver's licenses and identification cards, on an indefinite hold. According to an announcement made on the county's website, customers were unable to complete any driver's license or identification card transaction “at this time.”
Anoka County officials have not yet provided a timeline for when they expect to fully fix the glitches but emphasized their commitment to addressing the disruption quickly. They have also extended an apology to those affected and requested the public to "check back" as they work toward a resolution, as per Anoka County.
