
A 23-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a 30-year-old male victim following a shooting incident that took place last month in Chicago. The suspect, Anthony Maldonado, was arrested on July 10 in the 4800 block of W. Wolfram St., as per a statement from the Chicago Police Department.
The incident, which occurred on June 15, around 2:23 a.m., also left a 31-year-old female seriously injured. According to the Chicago Police Department, the attack took place in the 3000 block of N. Cicero Ave. in the city’s 25th District. Maldonado faces one felony count of first-degree murder, and two felony counts of attempted murder in the first-degree, his detention hearing is scheduled for today at the courthouse located at 2600 S. California.
Details surrounding the motive and circumstances of the shooting are still under investigation, and the police have not released additional information at this time.
