The Arizona Department of Public Safety has issued a Silver Alert for Jean Maurice Hamel, a 69-year-old man reported missing yesterday. According to the official release, Hamel was last seen at his Apache Junction residence at approximately 9 A.M. and is described as a white male with gray/brown hair, hazel eyes, a height of 5 feet 9 inches, and weighing 145 pounds.
Authorities are gravely concerned given that Hamel suffers from a medical condition that might cause him to appear lost or easily confused. He was observed leaving his home on North Meridian Drive in a silver, 2003, Saturn Vue, Arizona license plate G8A9VT, and was wearing a dark-colored shirt, blue jeans, and dark-colored bucket hat.
The Apache Junction Police Department is managing the search operations, with point of contact Officer McClure available at 480-982-8260 for any information relating the Jean's whereabouts. The public can also dial 911 if they have seen Hamel or have any pertinent information.
