
Authorities in Beaverton are currently piecing together the circumstances surrounding a vehicle engulfed in flames early Thursday morning. According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the incident unfolded at 03:49 a.m. in the 20600 block of SW Rockport Lane.
A 911 call revealed a concerning scene: a vehicle ablaze on a residential driveway, and an individual dressed in black was seen fleeing the vicinity. The potential for disaster loomed, as the vehicle was perilously close to a home – thankfully, unoccupied at the time, the Sheriff's Office described. Deputies promptly scoured the area following the incident, the suspect, however, managed to evade capture.
Investigators are keen on understanding the motives and whereabouts of the individual responsible for the fire. They welcome any tips from the public that could lead to resolving the case.
Washington County Sheriff's Office urges those with information to step forward. "If you have any information about this incident," the agency's press release states, "Investigators would like to hear from you."
