Lenox Square, a prominent fixture in Atlanta’s retail landscape, is gearing up for its 65th anniversary in August. Recognized as a premier shopping venue in the area, this milestone is set to be highlighted by various celebratory events, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta.
The anniversary festivities launch early next month with a public event scheduled for August 1 at 10 a.m. This gathering will feature addresses from Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum, and Lenox Square General Manager Robin Suggs. Individuals interested in joining the celebration can RSVP for the event, which takes place on the upper level between Nike and Apple. "We appreciate our community, visitors, staff, and retailers for helping Lenox Square achieve and celebrate 65 years as a landmark in Buckhead and Atlanta," Suggs said in a statement obtained by AtlantaFi.
In further commemoration, a proclamation by the Atlanta City Council will honor Lenox Square's anniversary. This special acknowledgment takes place during their full council meeting on August 5 at 1 p.m. at Atlanta City Hall. Moreover, patrons of Lenox Square are invited to participate in a social media contest, promising a chance to win a $1,000 shopping spree. To qualify, contestants must follow the mall’s Instagram account, share their favored memories of the mall, and include certain tags and hashtags as specified in the contest guidelines.
Tracing its origins back to its establishment in 1959, the center has expanded from a humble open-air shopping area with 60 shops to a vast, enclosed hub with nearly 250 stores. Lenox Square, boasting an annual foot traffic of over 35 million visitors, is celebrated not merely for its historical milestones, but also for being a significant nucleus of commerce and community within the country. To take part in the social media contest, or glean more insights into these festivities, Lenox Square's historical journey, and their influence on local culture, interested parties are encouraged to view additional details on the mall's official website, as conveyed by FOX 5 Atlanta.
