A collision involving a bicyclist and two vehicles led to the city's 26th traffic death of the year. The accident occurred around midday last Friday when a male bicyclist, whose identity remains withheld pending notification from the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office, was struck in an intersection, as reported by the San José Police Department.

According to the report, the adult male cyclist was riding against a red light when he collided with the rear of a Ford pickup truck crossing on a green light. The truck was driven by an adult male who had an adult male passenger at the time. After the initial impact, the cyclist fell and was then hit by a second vehicle, a Chevy sedan driven by another adult male, who was also navigating the intersection legally going southbound on N. 10th Street.

Both drivers involved in the incident cooperated with the authorities. The injured cyclist was promptly transported to a local hospital with critical injuries and was later pronounced dead.
