
Tragedy struck earlier today in Miami Gardens as a bicyclist lost their life when they were hit by a vehicle. Local 10 News reports the incident occurred at approximately 6:18 a.m. on the 200 block of Northwest 182nd Street.
The driver of a black Nissan, traveling northward on Northwest Second Avenue, apparently lost control of the car the vehicle subsequently slicing through trees before coming to a rest on the side perimeter road, where it made the fatal collision with the bicyclist, both sources concur, CBS News Miami reports the crash timing slightly earlier, at 6:15 a.m., near Miami Gardens Drive and U.S. 441.
In a statement obtained by Local 10 News, police confirmed that following the crash, the driver of the Nissan remained at the scene; the actions of the driver in the aftermath showing a sobering recognition of the immense gravity of the collision, marking a stillpoint of accountability in the midst of chaos.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officially pronounced the bicyclist dead at the site of the accident, the emergency responders received the call at the break of dawn marking another sudden departure from the living stream of Miami's bustling pulse, according to both CBS News Miami and Local 10 News.
